In Mayotte, the “Relais des Indes”, our lodge and B&B offers its rooms, table d’hôte and special area for the organisation of business seminars, meetings and events

Once upon a time there was a perfume island in the Indian Ocean. This little part of France, which is ultimately to get the status of a French department, this enchanting “lagoon island” where the scents of ylang-ylang turn out to be bewitching is generally known as Mayotte, the seahorse island that you have to deserve, for it does not open up so easily to visitors…

Mayotte, a stopover for merchants on the road to India

Twenty five years ago, right in the heart of this tiny paradise, a man from the French mainland (a M’zungu in Mayotte’s local language) found there a happy and fortunate refuge as well as a wife who was to give him four adorable daughters. Just like the Maharaja of the Taj Mahal who had an architectural jewel built for his beloved Rani, Sylvain Philys – at his own scale –  decorated his lodge with ceramics locally made in his workshop so as to express his love for the princesses who bring joy and happiness to his home.

That’s how the “Relais des Indes”, lodge and table d’hôte, was born from the red earth to bring its guests elegance, quietness, and refinement in a definitely exotic and friendly setting

Decoration, gastronomy and a peaceful way of life contribute to endow these buddhist-styled surroundings with a magical quality. With “Bébé”, your hostess, you’ll be given the opportunity to discover traditional cuisine from Mayotte and the Comoros, which includes a pilao that will long remain in your mind

The “Relais des Indes” is unique in Mayotte and offers a swimming-pool overlooking the lagoon. You’ll be enchanted by the high quality of its services and the warmth of its hosts
